Chance Meeting

dbremner

Her head bowed

Unable to look

His eyes averted

Unable to see

The rain lashes

Driven by the gale

Her hair now nothing

But a tangled mess

Lightning flashes

Off to the East

He pulls his collar up

Against the night

They pass each other

Both alone - yet together

The dark unites them

But chance does not.

I like it. Makes me wonder… if this is something that happens all the time... we miss chances, the actual to meet someone significant in your life, maybe for fate or just a mistake, is still a play on destiny or just a light hope to let it be. ... You got me thinking.
