Void of the Vultures

nair36

Why must you flee feline when while the canine barks?

When you prey upon fish like a fiend among sharks

Companions in homes yet when residing in parks

You hear the rough then you scuff without any remarks

Slither hither with dither to the mouse unarmed in the fields

Till he squeaks no more, till he surrenders his shields

Come to find another predator, whither wings it wields

Though unlike the mouse this pilot never yields

And all that’s left in the pastures and plains

Are scattered skeletons, the sorrow of remains

Lands and nations where a storm never rains

The vultures filling in by picking at brains

Question the discretion of this cycle and state

Entice the metaphorical mice with buckets of bait

Come time such a time they will dish the plate

Come time in their prime they will come to retaliate
