Lights on a broken window

Zojinjo

I sit here in this empty room, silent in despair.

Gazes that I had invoked, they're trying not to care.

The grip of sorrow choking me, my tears drop on the ground.

Walls of lights are staring down on me, from everywhere around.

I am growing helpless, callous and alone.

Waiting for a storm to rage, face it on my own.

Holding on to this, but there's nothing I can save.

My arms tied to the gold, but fortune favors just the brave.

Close your eyes now – Running through a broken window.

Face your life now – Flying from a broken window.

No one's gonna know, no one's gonna care.

The scent of goodbye, from another window over there.

I wait here in this dreary room, possessed by misery.

Dreaded thoughts inside my head, anxiety running free.

They tell you people care, you just need to wait.

But on the clock of sympathy I am always late.

My future's growing dark and grim, where did I go wrong?

Life is going faster every day, and I do not belong.

Is this world worth living for, if this room is all I see?

These thousand lights will awnser now; The end of my journey.

Close your eyes now – Running through a broken window.

Face your life now – Flying from a broken window.

No one's gonna know, no one's gonna care.

The scent of goodbye, from another window over there.

That was a great poem. Well written! Some advice, find something good in your life life and hold on to it with care, affection & respect (with both hands).

Ah, how poignantly and perfectly depicted! You scare me! Tell me this is ONLY a poem and not a serious personal contemplation?!!! How excellently it portrays the despair and hopelessness, the pressures and desperation! Excellent! The title says it is the note left behind....how perfectly hauntingly eerie!
