Many of the folks in contemporary performance poetry circles have been huge Buddy Wakefield fans for years.

Now, “Strange Famous Records is excited to announce the release of Buddy
Wakefield”s “Run On Anything” LP, slated for early fall 2006. His recordings on “Run On Anything” make up a truly of a one of a kind album and we couldn”t be happier to be involved in this project. ”

This 15-track labor of love, nearly 3 years in the making, is a surprising
angle shifter/lip splitter/hunger puncher, pooling an eclectic mix of good
music, weighty words, raw live performance audio, and potent guest appearances by Sage Francis, Jamie DeWolf of The Suicide Kings, Morris Stegosaurus, Mack Dennis, Nadine Zahr, the list goes on.

Calling “Run On Anything” a spoken word album isn”t fair to Buddy nor to his talented sound engineer, Jon Berardi. Probably because so many others have labeled themselves spoken word, talked like a tidal wave in a coffee house, then vomited mediocrity while recording it. Run On Anything is more than a spoken word CD. The full-circle experience this album offers sets a new bar that most performance poets will not be able to reach.
