Religious Poems

That religion does, as Einstein averred, ennoble man’s life and lead one towards freedom, is a given, regardless of the persuasion of one’s religion.
Therefore it is not surprising that throughout the world, in every culture and every religion, there are similarities in these religions. One similarity is that religion often inspires poets to pen.
In “To Buddha Seated on a Lotus Throne,” Indian poet Sarojini Naidu (1879-1949) ponders faith in the Buddhist religion:
The Christian poet Gerard Manley Hopkins (1844 – 1889) also explored his relationship with God in the religious poem “Thee, God, I Come from:”
Khalil Gibran (1883 – 1931) in “Religion XXVI” explores religion in general, or more, spiritualism:
Whatever the religion, there exist religious poems that both uplift and examine both religion and spirituality.
