For years, the Antigonish Review has been one of those prestigious markets for poetry.For the past five years, they”ve sponsored the Great Blue Heron Poetry Contest. The deadline for the 6th Annual Great Blue Heron Poetry Contest is fast approaching. Submissions for the Antigonish Review”s poetry contest should be no more than 150 lines of poetry, and may be one long poem or several short poems. The total entry should not exceed four typed, single-spaced pages. The prizes for this year”s contest are:

1st prize: $600 and publication
2nd prize: $400 and publication
3rd prize: $200 and publication

Judges for this year”s contest are Peter Sanger and Heather Pyrcz. There is a $25 entry fee. Poetry must be postmarked by June 30, 2006. (The deadline for the Fiction prize has already passed.)
